Multilingual learners enter our classrooms with a wealth of prior knowledge and experiences. As educators, we can enhance their connections to our content by activating that prior knowledge. In this workshop, we will explore SIOP strategies that activate and build prior knowledge and experience within students and explicitly teach key vocabulary in context.
